As a student in our School of Justice Studies, you can prepare to serve your community with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or an Associate's degree or post-degree Academic Certificate in Law Enforcement. Save time and money on your Associate's and Bachelor's degrees with self-directed assessments. These $149 online assessments allow you to prove that you already have the skills for a particular course and don't need to take it.
The Criminal Justice program is not designed to meet the educational requirements for professional licensure or certification in any states. The program has not been approved by any state professional licensing body and does not lead to any state-issued professional license. In Minnesota, the Criminal Justice Associate’s degree program does not meet the standards established by the Minnesota Peace Officer Standards and Training Board for persons who seek employment as a peace officer.

Our fully online program prepares you to pursue a wide variety of paths—including crime victims advocate, security manager and corporate security supervisor.
Our MN POST Board-approved program can be completed in as few as 18 months or as little as six months if you only need skills training and hold an existing conferred Associate’s degree. Both options provide real-world, practical experience from knowledgeable instructors.
Students will benefit from taking the skills portion of the program at the new, state-of-the-art HERO Training Center, an off-site facility which provides students with hands-on, immersive training simulations. The selection standards and training needed to be a police officer in Minnesota are among the highest in the nation, and our program prepares you to become a MN police officer and make critical decisions in high-pressure situations.
Designed to meet the academic component of the Professional Peace Officer Education (PPOE) program approved by the MN POST Board, our advanced online program allows you to gain your Academic Certificate in as few as nine months. Our curriculum focuses on the practical application of law enforcement principles, from arrest and the courts to the corrections system.
This program meets standards established by the Minnesota Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (MN POST) for persons who seek employment in Minnesota as a peace officer. Graduates of this program may need to successfully complete additional academic coursework, training, practical/skills and fitness standards before becoming eligible to sit for the MN Peace Officer Licensing Exam. Some of this training cannot be completed online.
